Austin Bound.

So in a few days I start off the New Year with a road trip down to Austin Texas with a few other stops along the way. I can't wait either, it's going to be good to beat the New England winter and ride some bikes, since it's been from about mid October i'd say since I last rode my bmx bike, so it's much needed and I'm psyched! I have no real plan, just basically freestyling it for a few months, but should be an interesting adventure. Well I guess check the blog for updates as i'll try to do my best to post as much as I can. See ya!

Banksy=Genius!

Some of you may not know who Banksy is, but he's an artist worth checking out. I find him to be one of the genius artists of the 21st century. His work is incredible, yet so simple in the point it's trying to make. I just enjoy everything he does, not just his stencil work which I'm really into, but all his other works he does as well. So below is a few photos of pieces of his artwork. So enjoy.

"Banksy has pulled off his most daring stunt yet by staging his biggest-ever British exhibition in complete secrecy.

The covert graffiti artist snuck into Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery and replaced many of the artefacts on display there with 100 pieces of his own work, including a burnt-out ice-cream van.

The spray-painted van, which sits under a giant melted cone, appears alongside dozens of sculptures, oil paintings and his trademark stencils from today."

Fundred Dollar Bill Project.

So I was asked to be a part of the Fundred Dollar Bill project and it feels good to be doing my part even if it's a little part, to make a big difference. And I feel that everyone should take a little time to check out what the project is about and participate. I have put a brief description of the project below, but you can go to Fundred.org for more information on it and print out a template if you want to participate. So take a minute and check it out.

"Everyone and anyone, students, teachers, artists, parents and celebrities, are all making their own Fundred Dollar Bills–original, hand-drawn interpretations of U.S. $100 bills. The goal is to collect over 3 million of these unique artworks. This cumulative total of 300,000,000 Fundred Dollars supports the equivalent cost (in U.S. Dollars) required to make safe every lead contaminated property in New Orleans, so that every child is protected.
These valuable drawings will be picked up by a special armored truck and presented to the U.S. Congress with a request for an even exchange of the creative capital–your Fundreds–for real funding to make safe lead-polluted soils in New Orleans. Once we create a lead-safe New Orleans, this innovative environmental model will be available to other lead-polluted cites."
